Local Loves: The Injection Nurse

Jun. 29/26 Blog

At Jenna Rae Cakes, we’re big believers that making life sweet goes far beyond dessert. Local Loves is where we share the people, places, and small rituals that add a little extra joy to our everyday lives. These are the businesses we genuinely love, trust, and recommend—because community, connection, and supporting one another really do make everything better.

The Injection Nurse

There are certain places you go because you need something, and then there are places you go because they make you feel better when you leave. This is very much the second kind.

We’re talking about The Injection Nurse today, a local business we’ve both been going to for a few years now. Not because anyone needs injectables (we want to be very clear about that), but because we love the confidence boost, the thoughtful approach, and honestly, the entire experience.

Why We Love It

Jess, the owner, is one of those people you instantly trust. She’s thoughtful, honest, and very comfortable telling you no if something doesn’t make sense for your face or your goals. That alone is rare! The whole team is incredible, but Jess really sets the tone. Everything feels considered. Nothing feels rushed or salesy. The focus is always on subtle, natural results that still feel like you. It aligns perfectly with how we think about confidence. Not changing who you are. Just feeling refreshed, supported, and a little more like yourself on a good day.

The Vibe

If you’ve never been, The Injection Nurse doesn’t feel like a clinic in the traditional sense. It’s cozy, welcoming, and unintimidating. The little pink house alone already puts you at ease before you even walk in the door.

Appointments feel more like conversations than procedures. You’re encouraged to ask questions. You’re never made to feel silly for being unsure. And you never feel pressured to do anything you’re not fully comfortable with. Which, in this space, really matters!

Our Experience

We’ve been seeing Jess for Botox consistently for years, and we love the results. Most recently, we both tried Sculptra, which is a little different than traditional fillers. Instead of instant volume, it works gradually by helping your skin build its own collagen over time. It’s subtle and slow, very much a long-game approach.

The experience itself was honestly easier than expected. Quick, relatively painless (the freezing was the worst part), and we were in and out in under half an hour. Now that we've started seeing the effects of Sculptra, what we love most is how subtle it is. You catch yourself looking a little more rested or refreshed, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly what's changed. The results have appeared gradually over time rather than overnight, which feels very natural—and very much our style. Thoughtful, subtle, and not rushed.

A few things that stand out every single time:

  • Treatments that are tailored to you, not trends
  • A highly experienced medical team that prioritizes safety and comfort
  • A warm, welcoming environment that feels more like self-care than a medical appointment
  • Honest guidance, even when that means talking you out of something

It always feels like the goal is for you to leave feeling confident, not “done.”

Quick Lightning Round with Jess, Owner of The Injection Nurse

Q: How did you get started in this industry?
I started as a registered nurse in pediatrics and later became a nurse practitioner. I began working in medical aesthetics almost 10 years ago and love it because it blends science, anatomy, and artistry, while still keeping patient safety and natural results at the centre.

Anyone who wants subtle, natural results and honest guidance. We focus on enhancing, not changing, what makes you, you. Our priority is always skin health, followed by injectables and long-term, individualized treatment plans for each patient.
